GWO First Aid Basic

The GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) First Aid Module is a 1-day (8-hour) course designed for individuals entering the wind industry and is a mandatory part of the GWO Basic Safety Training package. 

The training equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to recognize life-threatening situations and provide safe and effective first aid in a wind turbine environment. 

The course focuses on saving lives, preventing further injury, and managing casualties until professional medical assistance is available. Practical training includes lifesaving first aid using a primary survey and structured first aid approach, first aid response to incidents typical for the wind industry, and scenario-based exercises to ensure real-world preparedness.

Training is delivered in accordance with the GWO Basic Safety Training Standard issued by the Global Wind Safety Organisation.

Classes run from 08:00 to 16:00 with a maximum of 12 participants. The course is valid for 24 months and includes ongoing assessment in line with GWO requirements. Participants must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid WINDA ID.

GWO Fire awareness Basic

Fire Awareness Module is a half-day (3.5-hour) course designed for individuals entering the wind industry and forms a mandatory part of the GWO Basic Safety Training package.

The training provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to prevent fires, assess fire situations correctly, manage evacuation procedures, and ensure all personnel are accounted for during fire incidents. 

Participants also learn how to safely extinguish initial fires using basic handheld firefighting equipment when conditions allow. Practical training includes hands-on use of fire extinguishers, extinguishing fires with different types of extinguishing agents, and evacuation from a smoke-filled room simulating real fire scenarios.

Training is delivered in accordance with the GWO Basic Safety Training Standard issued by the Global Wind Safety Organisation. The course is conducted either from 08:00 to 11:30 or 12:30 to 16:00, with a maximum of 12 participants to ensure effective practical training. The course is valid for 24 months and includes ongoing assessment in line with GWO requirements. Participants must be at least 18 years old, wear working clothes and safety boots, and hold a valid WINDA ID.

GWO Manual Handling Basic

Manual Handling Module is a half-day (3.5-hour) course designed for individuals entering the wind industry and is a mandatory part of the GWO Basic Safety Training package.

The training focuses on making work in wind turbines safer by reducing the risk of musculoskeletal injuries. Participants learn how to perform manual handling tasks correctly and safely within the wind turbine environment, applying proper techniques to protect their health during daily work activities. 

The course is delivered in accordance with the GWO Basic Safety Training Standard issued by the Global Wind Safety Organisation.

Training takes place either from 08:00 to 11:30 or 12:30 to 16:00, with a maximum of 12 participants to ensure effective learning and supervision. The course is valid for 24 months and includes ongoing assessment in line with GWO requirements. Participants must be at least 18 years old, wear working clothes and S3-class safety shoes, and hold a valid WINDA ID.

GWO Working At Heights Basic

The GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Working at Heights Module is a 2-day (16-hour) course designed for individuals entering the wind industry and is a mandatory part of the GWO Basic Safety Training package.

The training equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to work safely at heights in a wind turbine environment and to perform basic rescue operations. Participants learn how to select, inspect, and correctly use personal protective equipment, carry out safe maneuvers when working at heights, and perform ladder-based and system-based rescue tasks.

Practical training also includes evacuation exercises simulating controlled descent from a wind turbine.

Training is delivered in accordance with the GWO Basic Safety Training Standard issued by the Global Wind Safety Organisation. Classes run from 08:00 to 16:00 with a maximum of 12 participants to ensure effective practical training. The course is valid for 24 months and includes ongoing assessment in line with GWO requirements. Participants must be at least 18 years old, hold confirmed medical fitness for working above 3 meters, wear working clothes and safety boots, meet the weight limit of up to 130 kg, and have a valid WINDA ID.
