Participants revisit the use of advanced emergency equipment and medical teleconsultation, and practice delivering ongoing care to ill or injured persons while awaiting professional emergency services.
Practical training includes bleeding control, wound dressing, CPR with AED use, airway management, artificial ventilation, oxygen therapy, burns treatment, fracture management, and scenario-based rescue exercises, including acting as a rescue leader.
Training is delivered in accordance with the GWO Enhanced First Aid Refresher Standard issued by the Global Wind Safety Organisation.
Classes run from 08:00 to 16:00 with a maximum of 12 participants to ensure intensive practical learning. The course is valid for 24 months and includes ongoing assessment in line with GWO requirements. Participants must be at least 18 years old, wear working clothes suitable for staining, hold a valid GWO Enhanced First Aid certificate, and have a valid WINDA ID.
GWO Slinger Signaller
Training is a 2-day (14-hour) course designed for wind industry personnel involved in slinging techniques and signaling during straightforward lifting operations.
The training equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely and efficiently support lifting activities in accordance with a predefined lift plan and identified hazards.
Participants learn how to select and inspect lifting equipment, communicate effectively during lifting operations, correctly attach and secure loads, and understand the roles and responsibilities of slingers and signalers during crane operations.
Practical training focuses on real-life lifting scenarios to ensure safe cooperation with lifting teams on site. Training is delivered in accordance with the GWO Slinger Signaler Standard issued by the Global Wind Safety Organisation.
Classes run from 08:00 to 16:00 with a maximum of 12 participants to ensure effective practical learning. The course has no expiry and includes ongoing assessment and a theoretical test in line with GWO requirements. Participants must be at least 18 years old, wear working clothes and safety boots, and hold a valid WINDA ID.
GWO Sea Survival
This is a 1-day (6.5-hour) course designed for individuals working in or travelling to offshore wind farms.
The training equips participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to act safely and responsibly during offshore operations, including emergency situations at sea.
Through a combination of theory and hands-on exercises, participants learn how to take correct preventive actions when moving between shore, installation vessels, and wind turbine generators, both during normal operations and emergency scenarios.
Training is delivered in accordance with the GWO Basic Safety Training Standard issued by the Global Wind Safety Organisation. The course is conducted in cooperation with the Maritime Academy in Szczecin and takes place at the MUSTC Maritime Academy Training Center in Szczecin, Poland.
Classes run from 08:00 to 15:00, with a maximum of 12 participants to ensure effective practical training. The course is valid for 24 months and includes ongoing assessment in line with GWO requirements. Participants must be at least 18 years old, weigh less than 120 kg including training equipment, and hold a valid WINDA ID.
GWO Service Lift User (VR)
The GWO Service Lift User Module is a 4-hour training designed for personnel working on wind turbine generators where lifts are used for transporting personnel and equipment inside the WTG.
The course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to use service lifts safely and correctly, with a strong focus on responsibility, risk awareness, and correct decision-making.
Participants learn about different lift types and guiding systems used in wind turbines, how to perform pre-use inspections, respond to emergency situations, and identify when guidance from manuals or supervisors is required.
The training is conducted on-site at GWS Academy using VR goggles to simulate realistic working scenarios.
Training is delivered in accordance with the GWO Basic Safety Training Standard issued by the Global Wind Safety Organisation. The course is completed through ongoing assessment in line with GWO requirements, has no expiry, and is delivered to a maximum of 12 participants per group. Participants must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid WINDA ID.
GWO Crane and Hoist User
This is a 1.5-day (14-hour) course designed for wind industry personnel who are required to operate small, fixed cranes and hoists (below 8 ton-meters) during routine onshore or offshore work.
The training provides participants with the essential knowledge and safe working practices needed to use lifting equipment correctly in a wind turbine environment, in accordance with manufacturer instructions and relevant legislation.
Participants learn about their responsibilities as basic users, the key components and functionality of fixed cranes and hoists, and how to perform basic lifting operations while supporting their own safety and that of others.
