Fire Awareness Module is a half-day (3.5-hour) course designed for individuals entering the wind industry and forms a mandatory part of the GWO Basic Safety Training package.
The training provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to prevent fires, assess fire situations correctly, manage evacuation procedures, and ensure all personnel are accounted for during fire incidents.
Participants also learn how to safely extinguish initial fires using basic handheld firefighting equipment when conditions allow. Practical training includes hands-on use of fire extinguishers, extinguishing fires with different types of extinguishing agents, and evacuation from a smoke-filled room simulating real fire scenarios.
