GWO BTT Mechanical
The GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT) Mechanical Module is a 1-day (8-hour) course designed for individuals aiming to develop essential mechanical skills for technician roles in the wind turbine industry.
The training provides a solid foundation in wind turbine mechanical systems, focusing on how key components operate, interact, and are maintained during installation and service activities.
Participants gain fundamental knowledge of gearbox functionality, brake systems, yaw and pitch mechanisms, as well as cooling and lubrication systems. The course also emphasizes risk awareness and practical skills such as manual tightening techniques and the correct use of measuring tools.
Training is delivered with a strong focus on safety, correct procedures, and supervised task execution within a wind turbine environment.
The course is conducted in accordance with the GWO Basic Technical Training Standard issued by the Global Wind Safety Organisation.
