GWO Enhanced First Aid – Basic

Training is a 3-day (21-hour) course designed for individuals working in wind turbine environments who require advanced first aid competence, often requested by clients for onshore and offshore operations.

The training equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills to provide safe, effective, and immediate lifesaving care in remote locations, including the use of advanced emergency equipment and medical teleconsultation.

Participants learn how to deliver ongoing care to ill or injured persons while awaiting professional emergency services, with a strong focus on leadership and decision-making during emergency situations.

Practical training covers bleeding control, wound dressing, CPR with AED use, airway management, artificial ventilation, oxygen therapy, burns treatment, fracture management, and scenario-based rescue exercises, including acting as a rescue leader.

Training is delivered in accordance with the GWO Enhanced First Aid Standard issued by the Global Wind Safety Organisation.
